Silvermine Showcasing Student Work
NEW CANAAN â The 14th Annual Juried Student Exhibition at Silvermine School of Art is on view through August 29 in Silvermine Galleries.
The popular multi-media show traditionally draws entries in painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics, mixed media, jewelry, silversmithing, collage and computer graphics. Prizes were be awarded on August 1 in both Adult and Youth categories, the latter including students age 2 through 17. All work has been completed since 2002.
This yearâs juror was Lee Anne Miller of Weston, an award winning artist and professor of art at The Cooper Union School of Art in New York, where she also served as dean from 1981 to 1991. Prior to her association with Cooper Union, Ms Miller was chairman of the department of art and art history at Wayne State University in Detroit, and at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She has also taught at Texas State University and the Cleveland Institute
