Oil Portrait Demo At Next CLA Program

FAIRFIELD — On Monday, August 16, at 7 pm, at New Fairfield Library, the Candlewood League of Artists will present the latest in its series of free, monthly visiting artist demonstrations.

This month CLA will welcome Madeleine Moriarty, who will demonstrate painting her favorite subject: portraits.

Ms Moriarty’s portraits are found in business and individual private collections nationally. She has exhibited in many museums and galleries including The Paul Mellon Arts Center in Wallingford, The Salmagundi Club and The National Arts Club in New York City, The Lauren Rogers Museum in Laurel, Miss., and The Herbert Hoover Presidential Library Museum in West Branch, Ia.

All are welcome to attend and meet this award-winning portrait artist on Monday evening. The program will be in the community room of New Fairfield Library, on Brush Hill Road (at the corner of routes 37 and 39, next to the town hall). For more information call Nancy Warwick at 746-9100.
