Historical Society Needs A Horse… Just For A Day
Historical Society Needs A Horse⦠Just For A Day
Newtown Historical Society is planning to participate in Newtownâs Labor Day Parade on September 6, and this year its members are hoping to have its antique surrey roll down Main Street. The surrey underwent restoration in 2003, and usually takes a place of honor on the front lawn of The Matthew Curtiss House when the historical society presents special programs. The historical society is hoping someone local who owns a horse would be willing to have their horse pull the surrey on Labor Day. A stipend would be available as a thank you, and also to cover transportation cost for the horse.
