A New Play

BROOKFIELD — Theater lovers are invited to join Country Players of Brookfield for the birth of a play. On Sunday, September 9, at 1 pm, the theater will host a reading of a new, original work.

These Things Happen is a play about the costs of keeping, and of revealing a painful family secret. Rape, confrontation, betrayal and lies all threaten one family’s survival.

Natalie Bates of Roxbury has written an original play that opens many doors one family had locked for years.

Admission is free. The reading will be followed by an open discussion of Ms Bates’ work.
