Occupation: I am the vice president of postal relations and shipping product development for Neopost USA.

Family: I have been married for 30 years to my wife, Jeannine. We have two boys: Vincent, who is 25, and has a management position with Pepsi, and Brendan, 22, who recently graduated from Marist. He hosts his own sports talk radio program for WGNY in Newburgh, N.Y.

Pets: We have two cats named Maddie and Misty. We adopted them when we lived in Newtown the first time.

How long have you lived in Newtown? We currently have been here for nine years. We previously lived in Newtown for a little over a year in 2000-2001 before moving to Northern Virginia for five years. We enjoyed our first time in Newtown so much that we looked nowhere else when we returned.

What do you like to do in your free time? I love playing golf. To me, nothing beats a few hours out in the sun with friends laughing, smoking a cigar, and trying to score well - but knowing it's not life or death if I don't. When the weather isn't conducive to golfing, I enjoy reading.

Do you have a favorite book? I enjoy reading both fiction and nonfiction books, and usually alternate between the two. My favorite fiction book is The World According to Garp by John Irving. I picked it up one afternoon while on vacation in the early 80s and read it all through the night until I finished it. Irving is a master at character development and storytelling. Like most of his books, you either love it or hate it. My favorite nonfiction book is The Great Bridge by David McCullough, which tells the story of the building of the Brooklyn Bridge in the late 19th Century. Fascinating tale of one of the most remarkable engineering feats in our history.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? I usually travel for three reasons: pleasure, business, or golf. For pleasure we enjoy somewhere near the water. Cancun has been our most recent destination of choice. On business I enjoy going to San Francisco. It's a great city to walk around in when the workday is over. I went to Scotland in April with friends for the bucket list golf trip of a lifetime.

What is the best thing about Newtown? It is big enough to have almost everything you need, but small enough to give you a great sense of community.

Who has been the greatest influence in your life? My two sons. Nothing has given me so much pride and satisfaction as participating in their lives and watching them grow into the fine young men they have become. To quote Archbishop Desmond Tutu, "You don't choose your family. They are God's gift to you."

If you could spend the day with anyone who would you choose and why? I would spend the day with my wife with one provision - we would be unencumbered by any technology. This way we could spend the day enjoying what we are doing uninterrupted.

Vincent DeAngelis is this week's Snapshot profile.

What is your guilty pleasure? My niece Nicole's homemade Rice Krispy treats.
