Tumble Jungle Welcomes Hometown Heroes

By Eliza Hallabeck

Newtown Volunteer Ambulance members Dylan Kelleher and Julia Theaman greeted students outside Tumble Jungle at 224 South Main Street on Wednesday, August 3.

Mr Kelleher and Ms Theaman introduced the students in the Tumble Jungle’s summer camp Hometown Heroes to different aspects of the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance vehicle. Mr Kelleher showed students the different tools on the outside of the vehicle while Ms Theaman gave students a tour of the inside of the vehicle.

Tumble Jungle Manager Kim Nezvesky said the day event was just one of many during the weeklong camp that introduced students to Newtown’s heroes.

Zach Oulette and Andrew White of Botsford Fire Rescue members also visited Tumble Jungle during the week to give campers a tour of a fire truck.

This is the second year Tumble Jungle has offered the Hometown Heroes camp. Other summer camps at Tumble Jungle are listed on its website, www.tumblejungle.net.
