Smooth The Way For The Parade
Smooth The Way For The Parade
To the Editor:
August is flying by, which means itâs almost time for the Great Newtown Labor Day Parade. I believe it is the largest in the nation.
This will be my third year to march with the VFW Post 308 Ladies Auxiliary. I feel it to be a privilege to be a part of the VFW and show my support for all of our military personnel.
Last year I twisted my ankle in a large crack on Queen Street and fell. Aside from being embarrassed, I had a pretty nasty scrap and bruised my hip.
In the interest of the safety of all the participants of the parade, I would like to request that all the holes and cracks along the parade route be fixed/filled. Iâm sure everyone would greatly appreciate it.
