Amber Finlayson & William Goodness

Former Sandy Hook residents Karen and Brian Finlayson announce the engagement of their daughter, Amber Grace Irene Finlayson, to William Raymond Goodness, son of Raydean Hoppner and Richard Goodness of Fairport, N.Y.

The future bride is a 2005 graduate of Newtown High School. She is also a 2009 graduate of Queen’s University, where she earned a bachelor of arts degree. She received her master’s of education earlier this year from Nazareth College of Rochester, N.Y.

Amber is an elementary school teacher, employed by the Board of Cooperative Educational Services.

The future groom graduated from Williamson High School in 1998, before attending Rochester Institute of Technology. He is an IT administrator for Paetec Communications.

The couple resides in Fairport, N.Y., as do Amber’s parents.

Amber and William are planning an October 2011 wedding, to take place in their hometown.
