Police said they conducted customer surveillance in the parking lot at Yankee Wine & Spirits at Newtown Shopping Village at 6 Queen Street, after which they issued the violations following a motor vehicle stop.

Police said they issued Jared Morris, 22, of 40 Engleside Terrace a misdemeanor summons on a charge of delivery of alcohol to an underage person. Morris is scheduled to appear in court on August 23 to answer the charge, police said.

Police said they issued infractions on a charge of possession of alcohol by a minor in a public place to Gregory Brown, 20, of Bethel, and also to Diane Schwictenberg, 19, of 4 Cottonwood Trail. Such violations carry a fine, which is appealable in court.

Police said they conducted the underage alcohol enforcement project with the aid of grant money.
