People Coming Together

To the Editor:

On Saturday evening, August 6, the people of Newtown were entertained by a spectacular fireworks display. The evening represented the culmination of Newtown’s Tercentennial celebration, but it also stands as a symbol of something more.

As the sole corporate sponsor of this event, we are proud to be part of the strong spirit of volunteerism here in Newtown. Ours is a community where people come together to help others and have a real impact on the quality of life in our town.

All of us at Newtown Savings Bank would like to extend a special thanks to Mike FitzSimons, who coordinated the evening of fireworks. We’d also like to thank all who contributed to the tercentennial celebration, as well as those who work throughout the year to make Newtown such a unique community.
