Dorothy Jean King

Mayflower Descendent

Dorothy Jean (Rice) (Robinson) King, 88, of Toddy Hill Road, died August 4 at Ashlar of Newtown. Mrs King had also lived in Bridgeport, Oxford, and Yuma, Ariz., before returning to Connecticut. She was the widow of John L. King.

Mrs King was born in Seymour on November 15, 1916, a daughter of Charles L. and Harriet (Howe) Rice. She was a member of the Connecticut Society of Mayflower Descendents.

She leaves two sons, Marshall K. Robinson of Cheshire and Charles E. Robinson, Jr, of Avondale, Ariz.; a daughter, Marilyn Lopez of Northfield; a sister, Marion Bristol of Orange; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Private funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.

The Alderson Funeral Home, 70 Central Avenue, Waterbury, has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to: Ashlar of Newtown, Quality of Life Fund, PO Box 5505, Newtown CT 06470.
