James J. Husvar, Sr, 77, of the Huntington section of Shelton, died August 8 at Griffin Hospital. Born on September 18, 1927 in Scranton, Penn., son of Emery and Bertha Husvar, he was a Connecticut resident for 55 years.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Dorothy, of the Huntington section of Shelton; three sons, James and his wife, Nancy, of Newtown, Robert and his wife, Marlene, of Newtown, and Michael and his wife, Gulnar, of Bethel; one daughter, Ann LeStrange and her husband, Eric, of the Huntington section of Shelton; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel, and Andrew Husvar of Newtown, Brian and Brandon Husvar of Newtown, Caroline and Timothy LeStrange of the Huntington section of Shelton; one brother, Emery of Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews. His sister, Florence Piccione of New Jersey, predeceased him.
A veteran of the US Navy, he was a retired Teamsters Local 191 and a member of St Jude Parish in Monroe, where he served as an usher and member of the maintenance committee.
 Funeral services were held on Thursday morning, August 11, in the Spadaccino Community Funeral Home, Monroe, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St Jude Church, Monroe. Interment will be in St Johnâs Cemetery, Monroe.
