Free Family Music Jam

MONROE — What is the difference between wind, percussion and string instruments?

Children of all ages, and their parents and grandparents, are invited to an End of Summer Family Music Jam at Creative Music and Arts on Saturday, August 20.

The Creative Music staff will provide hands-on musical exploration for young children as well as share instrument history and knowledge with visitors. The back-to-school event will run from 10 am to noon. No appointments are necessary, and there is no fee to attend. The program will run rain or shine.

Participants should “bring your dancin’ feet and singin’ voices” for the event, which will also feature local registered Music Together® teachers Steve Epstein, Julie Capuano and Lis Rothchild.

Special guests on Saturday will also include The Love at Work Band featuring Tom Hanford and Kat Bloom.

Singing and dancing will be encouraged.

The Family Music Jam is being co-presented by Creative Arts & Music in Monroe and Music Together of Monroe/Newtown. Creative Arts and Music, where the event will be held, is at 731 Main Street/Route 25 in Monroe.

Call 261-7301 for additional information.
