Hut One! Hut Two!

Football season is here as Newtown Youth Football opened conditioning drills on Monday night at Treadwell Park. Practice will move to Hawley School next week when the pads are put on for the first time. Some 200 players descended on Treadwell last week for practice as Newtown opened a 2006 season that will feature a new look to the Candlewood Valley League as teams three teams from New York join the fray. The CVL will include the Aspetuck Wildcats, the Bethel Bobcats, Hudson Valley Knights, Mahopac Sports Association, Monroe Lions, Newtown Nighthawks, Norwalk Jaguars, Ridgefield Raiders and Southern Dutchess Packers. - Bee Photos, Harmon
