Danbury Child Care

Receives Grant

DANBURY — Interfaith Early Learning Center, a nonprofit child care center, has received a $15,000 discretionary grant from the Fairfield County Community Foundation to offer professional development courses to staff, offer parent workshops and trainings, and to purchase classroom materials.

Interfaith Early Learning Center is governed by Interfaith Social Action Corporation and has offered care for 3- to 5-year-olds for more than 35 years. Interfaith is a full year child care center currently serving 96 children and is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

The Fairfield County Community Foundation promotes the growth of philanthropy to strengthen local communities and the region. Since 1992, individuals, families, corporations, and organizations have established charitable funds and contributed to existing funds that support community and economic development, children and youth, education, the environment, health and human services and the arts.

With assets approaching $78 million, the foundation annually awards more than $7 million in grants. In addition, the foundation provides philanthropic advisory services; convenes philanthropists, nonprofits and community leaders; and develops initiatives to address critical community issues.
