Car Show This Weekend At Ashlar

The Classic Nights Car Club of Monroe will host its Fifth Annual “Going Back in Time” Classic Car Show and Sock Hop on Saturday, August 12, from 11 am to 2 pm, at Lockwood Lodge at Ashlar of Newtown, 139 Toddy Hill Road.

Admission is free.

“Oldies” music will be provided by local DJ Seth Carley.

There will be a wide array of unique classic and antique cars on display, many of them owned by members of the sponsoring car club. Attendees will be issued ballots upon arrival, which they can use to vote for their favorite to receive the Peoples’ Choice Award. First, second and third place trophies will be presented to the selected winners.

Greyhound Rescue and Rehabilitation, a non-profit organization of volunteers, will be on hand to help raise public awareness about ex-racing greyhounds and what wonderful pets and companions they make when adopted through the organization.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase, and tours of Ashlar of Newtown and Lockwood Lodge will be offered to anyone interested.

For those who plan to enter a car into the competition, pre-registration is not required, and each one of the first 50 cars to register that day will receive a dash plaque. The cutoff year is 1980, so cars manufactured beyond that date will not be allowed to enter the competition.
