Theodore R. Kennedy

Theodore R. Kennedy, 74, of 1070 Amity Road, Bethany, died on August 10 in the Gaylord Rehabilitation Center in Wallingford.

He was the husband of Beatrice Eula Kennedy, and was a resident of Bethany for four years, living previously for 19 years in Shelton.

He was the father of  Theodore Joseph Kennedy of Sandy Hook.

Mr Kennedy was born in Erie, Penn., on June 6, 1926, son of the late Lawrence and Adelaide Kennedy. A decorated World War II Navy Veteran who served in the Pacific Theater, he was a rotor head technician with Sikorsky Aircraft for more than 36 years before his retirement in 1989. Mr Kennedy was a member of the VFW in the Huntington section of Shelton, and the State and National LST Associations.

Mr Kennedy was also the father of John Kennedy of Georgetown, Susan Staff of Norwalk, and Dawn Perry of Yellville, Ark. He is also survived by three brothers, Lawrence Kennedy of Danbury, Paul Kennedy of Bethel, and Arnold Kennedy of Pensacola, Fla.; a sister, Elaine Meyer of Danbury; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Kennedy.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on August 14 in St Vincent Ferrer Church in Naugatuck. Burial followed with full military honors in Riverside Cemetery, Shelton.

The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, was entrusted with the arrangements.
