Jeannette Warner
Jeannette (McBride) Warner of Norwalk, formerly of Darien, wife of the late
Myron F. Warner, died February 7 at Norwalk Hospital. She was the mother of
Ann Kugielsky of Newtown. She was born April 20, 1914 in India, the daughter
of the late Rev Arthur McBride and Elizabeth (Viles) McBride.
Mrs Warner graduated from Carleton College, Northfield, Minn. She is the
former secretary of the Noroton Presbyterian Church as well as the founder and
editor of the Noroton Presbyterian Church newsletter, The Spire. She was also
a secretary of the Riverside Presbyterian Church in New York City.
Mrs Warner is a long-time member and volunteer at the Noroton Presbyterian
Church. She was also a member of the League of Women Voters, a member and
volunteer at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum, a volunteer for the Darien
Historical Society, and a volunteer at Person-to-Person.
In addition to her daughter, she is survived by another daughter, Jane Bean of
Cornwall; she was pre-deceased by a daughter, Elizabeth Reynolds; two sisters,
Elizabeth Jones of Thief River Falls, Minn. and Leslie Freerks of St Louis,
Mo.; and five grandchildren.
The Edward Lawrence Funeral Home of Darien is handling the arrangements. A
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 13, at 2 pm, at the Noroton
Presbyterian Church, Darien, with the Rev David Jordan-Haas officiating.
Interment will be private at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien.
