Lucy V.D. Dukenski

Lucy Veronica Dybowski Dukenski, 84, a retired teacher, mother of Ron Dukenski

of Newtown, died November 11 in St Joseph's Manor. She was a teacher in

Tarryville and in Monroe for 29 years.

Widow of the late Walter Dukenski, she was born in Fall River, Mass. She was a

resident of the Bridgeport area for 70 years. She was a graduate of Bridgeport

Normal School and Central Connecticut State University.

She was a member of the Polish Cultural Club of Bridgeport, the Bridgeport

Retired Teachers, Association of Retired Connecticut Teachers, American

Association of Retired Persons, the Baldwin Center, Monroe Historical Society,

Discovery Museum and the Bridgeport Hospital Auxiliary.

In addition to her son, she is survived by another son, Frank Dukenski of

Trumbull; two sisters, Eleanor Olenski of Trumbull and Sally Konecny of

Florida; a brother, Walter Dybowski of Wyoming; and numerous nephews, nieces

and step-family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Monroe Teacher's

Scholarship Fund, Monroe, Conn.

A memorial service will be in Trinity Church in Newtown at a date and time to

be announced. Interment will be private. Friends may call November 13 from 3

to 5 and 6 to 8 pm. The Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Avenue, Bridgeport, is

in charge of arrangements.

Kenneth Laughlin

Kenneth Laughlin, 67, of 18 Cherryfield Lane, Danbury, brother of Gerald

Laughlin of Sandy Hook, died unexpectedly at Danbury Hospital on November 11.

He was the husband of the late Janet Marie (Woodin) Laughlin.

A native of Danbury, he was born on April 7, 1931, a son of Edward L. and

Marion Fisher Laughlin. He was educated in Danbury schools.

He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the National

Guard.

Prior to his retirement in 1991, Mr Laughlin was a custodian with Western

Connecticut State University. He was also previously employed as a truck

driver with Danbury Box.

Mr Laughlin was a member of St James Episcopal Church in Danbury.

In addition to his brother, his survivors include a sister, Betty Stevenson of

Danbury, and nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are November 13 from 7 to 9 pm at the Hufcut Funeral Home, Main

Street, Dover Plains, N.Y.

The funeral service is November 14 at 10:30 am at the funeral home with the

Rev James Stenson officiating.

Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Dover Plains, N.Y.

Anne Kopchak Sauer

Anne Kopchak Sauer, 44, of Ohman Avenue, Orange, beloved wife of Alan A.

Sauer, died November 6 at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Born in Bridgeport, June 28, 1954, daughter of Andrew and Mildred (Morgan)

Kopchak of Milford, she was a resident of West Haven before moving to Orange

nine years ago. Mrs Sauer was employed by Klarides Supermarket of Derby until

her illness.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by a son, Steven A.

Sauer of Orange, five brothers, Michael Kopchak, Robert Kopchak, Alan Kopchak,

Thomas Kopchak of Milford and Andrew Kopchak of Newtown; seven sisters, Jean

Goodwin of Milford, Dorothy Zargo of North Branford, Rita Gleason of

Stratford, Elaine Haslob of Monroe, Marilyn Dennis of North Branford,

Catherine Bromley of Fairfield and Peggy Kopchak of Milford.

Services took place November 10 at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad

Street on the Green, Milford, with a Mass of the Resurrection in St Mary

Church, Milford. Interment was in Orange Center Cemetery, Orange.

Conn. 06473.

Edward C. Rywolt

Edward Cecil Rywolt, 85, of 10 Pine Hill Road, New Fairfield, father of

Constance C. Hewitt of Sandy Hook, died November 6 at Fairfield Manor

Healthcare in Norwalk.

He was the husband of the late Marie Del Guidice. Mr Rywolt was born in

Yonkers, N.Y., July 12, 1913, a son of Michael and Louise (Stzelewska) Rywolt.

Mr Rywolt had lived in New Fairfield since he was 1 year old. He worked as a

machinist at Consolidated Controls and as a dairy farmer on the family farm

located in New Fairfield. He was the head of the soil conservation committee

in New Fairfield and was a member of the Connecticut Milk Producers

Association, of the Company "A" Volunteer Fire Department, and of St Edward

the Confessor Roman Catholic Church.

In addition to his daughter, he is survived by a son, Thomas V. Rywolt of New

Fairfield; five grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services were held November 10 at St Edward the Confessor Roman Catholic

Church, Route 39, New Fairfield. Burial followed at St Peter's Cemetery,

Danbury.

James F. Kearns

James F. Kearns, 62, head custodian of the Cyrenius H. Booth Library in

Newtown, died November 7, in the Danbury Hospital. Mr Kearns resided at 9

Bennetts Bridge Road, Sandy Hook.

He was born in Danbury on February 13, 1936, a son of the late John and

Florence (Ruffles) Kearns. He was a lifelong resident of Sandy Hook and was a

graduate of Newtown high School. Mr Kearns served in the US Marines following

the Korean War.

He had been employed at the library for the past 31 years and was a member of

the Virgilius Council #185 Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by three brothers, Michael Kearns, Edward Kearns and Thomas

Kearns, all of Sandy Hook; four sisters, Dorothy Bresson and Ruth Hunt of

Sandy Hook, Mary Petty of Peabody, Mass., and Martha Harshbarger of Pawling,

N.Y.; and several nieces and newphews.

Funeral services were held November 10 from the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main

Street, Newtown, and in St Rose of Lima Church for a Mass of Christian burial.

Interment was in St Lawrence O'Toole Cemetery, Brewster, N.Y.

Raul A. Camejo, Sr.

Raul A. Camejo Sr., 70, of Southbury and formerly of Hundred Acres Road,

Newtown, father of Richard A. Camejo Sr. of Newtown, died November 7, in

Naples Hospital, Naples, Fla. Mr Camejo was the husband of Shirley Mae (Hyatt)

Camejo. They were married in August 1953.

He was born in Camagucy Province, Cuba, October 17, 1928, a son of the late

Crisobal M. Camejo and Rose Pelacz Camelo Garcia y Hernandez.

He moved to the United States in 1949 and became a citizen in 1953.

Mr Camejo was retired from Carolina Freight Corporation, where he was a fleet

maintenance supervisor. He also was the vice president of RAC Diesel Service

Inc. of Brookfield.

He was a lifetime member of the Dodgingtown Volunteer Fire Department and a

former member of the Newtown Board of Fire Commissioners. He was active in Cub

and Boy Scout programs in Newtown for over 30 years. He served as the

scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 370 for 29 years. He was holder of the Silver

Beaver Award, scouting's highest adult award, the Scatacook District Award of

Merit and the National Scoutmasters Award from the National Eagle Scout

Association. He completed the Wood Badge training program and served on

numerous Wood Badge training staffs. Over the years, he took several groups of

scouts to the Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, N.M., where they backpacked in

the Sangria De Christo Mountains and to the Maine High Adventure Base.

In addition to his wife and son, he is survived by another son, Raul A. Camejo

Jr. of Southbury; a brother, Jose M. Cameo of Queens, N.Y.; a sister, Lidia

Ferrer of Cooper City, Fla.; three grandchildren, Christopher J. Camejo of

Southbury, Richard A. Camejo Jr. and Rachel Ann Camejo of Newtown.

Funeral services were held November 12 in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main

Street, Newtown. Interment was in Newtown Village Cemetery.

Donna Webster Salem

Donna Webster Salem, 46, of Sandy Hook, died November 7, at Sloan-Kettering

Cancer Center in New York City.

Ms Salem was born September 19, 1952 in Bridgeport, a daughter of Raymond

Webster of Stuart, Va., and the late F. Jean (Prunier) Webster.

Besides her father, she leaves one daughter, Michelle, of Sandy Hook; her

fiance, Michael Margait of Sandy Hook; two brothers, David Webster of

Southbury and Bruce Webster of New Milford; three sisters, Lisa Smith of

Stuart, Va., Jennifer Jakubaukas of Southbury, and Rae Anne Hosey of Willards,

Md.; and her maternal grandmother, Ruth Aitken, of Newtown.

A memorial service will be held November 15, at 2 pm at Carpino Funeral Home,

750 Main Street South, Southbury. There are no calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sloan-Kettering Bone Marrow

Transplant Fund, in care of the funeral home.

Helen T. Macey

Helen Tadeusiak Macey, 92, of Monroe, wife of the late Frank V. Macey, died

November 7, in Astoria Park convalescent home.

Born in South Amboy, N.J., Mrs. Macey resided in Bridgeport for many years,

before moving to Monroe 30 years ago. She was a retired sales clerk for D.M.

Reads and was an avid reader.

Survivors include her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Irene and Kenneth

Rancourt, of Monroe; six grandchildren, Janet Czajkowski of Monroe, Kenneth

Rancourt of Center Conway, N.H., James Rancourt of Newtown, Michael Rancourt

of Pownal, Vt., Paul Rancourt of Conway, N.H., Norman Rancourt of Monroe;

seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces

and nephews.

Funeral service were held on November 12 in the Lesko-Miner Funeral Home, 155

Main Street, Route 25, in Monroe. Interment followed in St Michael's cemetery.

Betty A. Ritchie

Betty A. Ritchie, 48, wife of Stanley Ritchie of 35 Sky Edge Drive, Bethel,

died at Danbury Hospital on November 9.

She was born in Norwalk, May 12, 1950, daughter of Julia (James) Lockwood of

Fairfield and the late Alfred Lockwood.

Mrs Ritchie had grown up in Fairfield and attended Fairfield schools; she had

been a Bethel resident for the past 30 years and was employed for many years

at I.F.S., International Fiber Systems, of Newtown.

In addition to her husband and her mother, she is survived by two daughters,

Louise Ritchie and Jeannie Ritchie, both of Bethel; two sisters, Diane Griffin

of Huntington and Donna Lockwood of Fairfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street,

Danbury, on November 13 at 11 am. Cremation will follow. Calling hours were

scheduled on November 12 from 4 to 8 pm.

Dorothy Lydia S. Tera

Dorothy Lydia Stulc Tera, 78, mother of Lydia Tera Christensen of Newtown,

died at her home in Philadelphia on October 30.

Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, she moved to Czechoslovakia with her family in

1922. Mrs Tera was the daughter of a Presbyterian minister. She grew up,

married and had one daughter in Czechoslovakia. In 1948, to escape from

Communism, which invaded that country, she and her daughter returned to the

United States. Her husband, Frank, escaped two years later to join her. Until

1981, when she and her husband moved to Philadelphia, she lived in Elmhurst,

Queens, in New York.

In addition to her daughter, she is survived by her husband of 58 years, Frank

Joseph Tera; two grandchildren, Karen Christensen MaCann, and Jon E.

Christensen II, of Newtown; two sisters, Esther Cejka of the Czech Republic,

Jarmila Kroha of Philadelphia, Pa., and one brother, Jaroslav Stulc of

Madisonville, Ky.

Memorial services were held November 7 at Falls Presbyterian Church, Midvale

Avenue at Vaux Street, East Falls, Philadelphia, Pa.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Disease and Related

Disorders Assn., 325 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
