OBITS (Brown; Forster; Traub; Olson; Watt)

Duncan Brown

Duncan Brown, 72, father of Duncan P. Brown of Newtown, died April 13 in West

Haven Veteran's Hospital. He was the widower of Mary McLaughlin Brown.

Mr Brown was born in Bridgeport and was a lifelong resident of the city. He

was retired from the Spring and Buckley Co.

He was a World War II Navy Veteran, serving aboard the SS Cahalot , Pampan

Ito, Proteus and Greenlet submarines. He was a member of the American Legion

Post #141, Trumbull and VFW Post #10059; other organizational memberships

include the Fayerweather Yacht Club, the Old Timers Association of Bridgeport,

Bridgeport Lawn Bowling Association, National Umpire American Lawn Bowling,

Spirit of Black Rock Fife and Drum Corps, US Senior Olympic Committee, the UB

Court Club, and the Milford Senior Center.

Mr Brown was the former assistant scout master of Troop 10 and St Stephen's

Explorer Post of the BSA and an active member of the Parents Organization of

the Troubadores Drum and Bugle Corp. He was also the past Royal Chaplain of

the Order of Scottish Clans.

Besides his son Duncan, Mr Brown is survived by another son, James D. Brown of

Florida; one daughter, Agnes M. Boncek of N.Y.; one brother, Otto Wuennemann

of Monroe; one sister, Annie M. Brown; two grandchildren, Laura Brown and

Jessica Brandes Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 20, at 10 am in the Black

Rock Congregational Church, Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield. Interment will be

private in Mountain Grove Cemetery.

The Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Avenue, Bridgeport, is in charge of

arrangements.

Donations may be made to the Milford Senior Center, 9 Jepson Drive, Milford,

CT 06460 or the VA/GPF, VA Voluntary Services-135, 950 Campbell Avenue, West

Haven.

Lita Forster

Lita "Lee" (Kirkwood) Forster, 67, of Brewster, Mass., died March 4 at Beth

Israel Hospital, Boston.

She was the wife of William G. Forster of Brewster.

Born and raised in Bethlehem, Pa., she graduated from Liberty High School in

Bethlehem in 1948. She raised her family in Pennsylvania and later in

Connecticut. She and her husband moved to West Barnstable, Mass., and later

Brewster, Mass., from Newtown in 1995.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Craig Hendricks of

Shawnee-on-Delaware, Jill Coxe of Westport and Paige Ransford of Canton,

Mass.; three stepchildren, Gregory Forster of Florida, Todd Forster of

Connecticut, and David Forster of Oklahoma; a brother, Charles Kirkwood of

Shawnee-on-Delaware, Pa.; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held March 9 at the Hallett Funeral Home, South

Yarmouth, Mass. Interment was held in Quivet Cemetery, East Dennis, Mass.

Marguerite Traub

Marguerite Sarah Minor Traub, 100, a retired grade school teacher, died April

26 at Ashlar in Newtown.

Mrs Traub was the wife of the late Burras C. Traub.

A lifelong resident of Bethlehem, Conn., she was born in Bethlehem on April

10, 1898, a daughter of Arthur Truman and Mary Lucretia Ames Minor. She was a

graduate of Watertown High School and the Danbury Normal School.

Before her retirement, Mrs Traub taught for many years in the Bethlehem and

Watertown school systems.

At the time of her death, she had been the oldest member of the First Church

of Bethlehem.

Mrs Traub is survived by two sons, Jack Traub of Newtown and Theodore Traub of

Bethlehem; two brothers, Ames Minor of Bethlehem and Gerald Minor of

Clearwater, Fla.; and four grandsons.

She was predeceased by two daughters, June Alma Traub and Mae Lenore Traub

Richards.

Contributions in her memory may be made to the First Church of Bethlehem, PO

Box 28, Bethlehem, CT 06751, or to Ashlar of Newtown, PO Box 5505, Newtown, CT

06470.

Services were held April 30 at 2 pm at the First Church of Bethlehem, Main

Street South, Bethlehem. Burial in Bethlehem Cemetery.

The Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, Main Street South, was in charge

of arrangements.

Ronald A. Olson

Ronald A. Olson, 89, a past master and 50-year member of the Hiram Lodge No 18

AF&AM in Sandy Hook, died last week in Newark, Del., where he lived with his

son.

Born in New York City, Mr Olson served in the Seebees, the US Navy

construction corps, in the Philippines during World War II. He moved to

Newtown during the 1940s and was an independent building contractor here for

nearly 40 years.

The Olson family lived for many years on Church Hill Road in Sandy Hook. Mr

Olson moved to Delaware six years ago.

Mr Olson is survived by his wife, Mabel L. Olson, who lives in the Candlewood

Lakes Nursing Home in New Milford; his daughter, Judith Wheeler of Sawmill

Road in Newtown; his son, Ronald W. Olson of Newark, Del.; and five

grandchildren: Siri, Kristy and Bradley Wheeler, and Todd and Jamie Olson.

Private services will be held.

Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church in Sandy

Hook.

Jesse Lee Watt

Jesse Lee Watt, 40, of Newtown died on April 27 in Bridgeport.

He was the husband of Ervanna G. Flores.

Born in Bridgeport, Jesse had worked as a machinist at Curtis Packaging.

He enjoyed music and was an accomplished guitarist as well as an avid

fisherman.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his parents, Harold J. and Barbara (Rose)

Watt of Newtown; six brothers and sisters, Harold J. Watt Jr of Davinport,

N.Y., Wayne C. Watt of Oxford, Adam C. Watt of Stratford, Robin Mastro of

Bridgeport, Danielle Smith of Shelton and Shannon Watt of Danbury; and many

nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday at 10 am in the Lesko-Miner Funeral Home, 155

Main Street (Route 25), Monroe, with Pastor J. Ramirez officiating. Burial

will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Newtown.

Friends may greet the family on Thursday, April 30, 4 to 8 pm.
