Project Learning Tree Teacher Workshop

MIDDLEFIELD — Teachers and educators of kindergarten through fifth grades are invited to join the Connecticut Forest & Park Association in Middlefield on Wednesday, August 22, from 9 am to 3 pm, for the Back to School with Project Learning Tree workshop. During this fun and energizing professional development workshop, educators will discover how to bring the outdoors into the classroom and students out into the schoolyard.

Project Learning Tree, an award-winning environmental education curriculum, teaches students how to think, not what to think, about their environment. Attendees will discover classroom-ready, engaging activities that use inquiry and critical thinking skills to explore the connection between science and the outdoors, and how to help students develop the enthusiasm, interest, and confidence of learning science by using the world outside the classroom window.

The fee is $35 per participant and each participant will receive the Project Learning Tree Activity Guide and 0.5 CEUs. Financial assistance is available. This workshop meets Connecticut Science Content Standards for: Scientific Inquiry, Scientific Literacy, Scientific Numeracy, Matter & Energy in Ecosystems, and The Changing Earth.

To register, contact CFPA at 860-346-2372 or info@ctwoodlands.org
