Banking On A Great Parade

Newtown Savings Bank will once again serve as a Gold Sponsor of the Newtown Labor Day Parade. The 46th annual presentation of this town-wide event will return this year on Monday, September 3.

The bank will also sponsor and decorate the grandstand on Queen Street, and plans to give away bottled water to thirsty parade-viewers throughout the morning at an employee-staffed table next to the grandstand.

At Newtown Savings Bank’s 39 Main Street headquarters, parking will be available to the public with the purchase of one Cyrenius H. Booth raffle ticket per car, at a cost of $10 for the chance to win diamond earrings, a Compaq Presario Notebook, a $175 Ricci’s Salon gift certificate, or an Apple iPod. Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase in front of Newtown Savings Bank and at the grandstand. The drawing will be held on September 28.

In addition, collection boxes will be set up at the bank and the grandstand area for nonperishable food donations to the United Way Food Drive.

Anyone making a donation to either the library or the food drive is welcome to join Newtown Savings Bank employees and their families at the bank’s parade viewing event at 39 Main Street. Refreshments and seating will be provided.
