Nutmeg Quilters Help Make Homes, Too

What could be better than wrapping yourself in a hand-made, double-bed-size quilt on some cold winter night? Try this: knowing the quilt helped build somebody else a warm home, too.

The Ridgefield-based Nutmeg Quilters Guild is giving half the proceeds from its annual quilt raffle this year to non-profit, affordable-housing builder Housatonic Habitat for Humanity.

The quilt will be on display at a number of HHfH functions through early fall. A photograph of the quilt is also posted on the guild’s web site, www.danburyhabitat.org.

The raffle will take place Wednesday, November 8, at the Italian-American Mutual Aid Society in Ridgefield. The $1 tickets can be purchased through guild member Terri Jannelli, a Habitat office volunteer, at 203/431-1392.
