WASHINGTON â The Institute for American Indians Studies, Washington, Conn., will offer a special class on drum-making as Native Americans have done for centuries.
The workshop will give an overview of drum use as well as teach the method of making a 13-inch cedar single head drum with deer-hide head and beater. The workshop will be led by IAIS research associate and ethnobotanist E. Barrie Kavasch. It will be on Saturday, August 26, at IAIS, 38 Curtis Road, from 10 am to 3 pm.
