Police Make Arrests In BB Gun Incident
Police said two local youths have turned themselves in on charges stemming
from a March 29 BB gun shooting incident.
John Giannettino, 16, of 18 Chestnut Hill Road turned himself in April 23 and
was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment.
On April 26, Chris Towne, 16, of 14 Honey Lane, turned himself in and was
charged with being an accessory to second-degree reckless endangerment.
On March 29, Giannettino and Towne were involved with shooting a BB gun from a
car window, police said. Giannettino inadvertently struck a local woman in the
lower leg with a BB while she was in her front yard, police said. Giannettino
had been attempting to shoot balloons which were attached to the woman's
mailbox, according to police. The unidentified woman received a small
abrasion, police said.
Towne was driving the car at the time, police said.
After posting a $3,500 bond, Giannettino was released for an April 30
appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Police held Towne on a $2,500 bond for an April 27 court appearance.
