Borough Election Set For May 3

The bi-annual election of the Borough of Newtown will be held on Monday, May

3, from 6 am to 8 pm. Borough residents vote at the polling place set up in

the superintendent of school's conference room at the middle school.

All candidates are incumbents. They include Warden Joan Crick and Burgesses

Gretchen Hyde, Joseph M. Maher, III, and Darlene Spencer. Mrs Spencer was

appointed last year to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Burgess

James Walker, who resigned.

Mrs Spencer also is running for reelection as the borough clerk. Other

candidates include Marie Walker, treasurer; and Dawn Ford, tax assessor/tax

collector.

John Madzula and Janet Woycik are seeking reelection to the Board of

Assessment Appeals.

Other candidates include Robert Connor, Zoning Commission; David Frances,

Zoning Commission alternate, and Bea Gellert, Zoning Board of Appeals.
