Newtown Savings Bank Announces Promotions
Newtown Savings Bank this week announced the promotions of six executive staff
members including Joseph J. Humeston, who has been named senior executive vice
president.
Mr Humeston, second in command at the bank, will be responsible for expanding
commercial and industrial loan production, loan servicing, and all of the
bank's retail lending functions. He also is secretary of the bank, secretary
of NSB Investments, and secretary of the NSB Foundation, Inc.
John F. Trentacosta has been promoted to executive vice president, finance.
His responsibilities will include the bank's accounting functions, call
reporting, financial reporting, insurance, and maintaining the financial
systems of budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, product profitability, and
certain management information systems.
The role of Kenneth W. Evans, executive vice president and treasurer, has been
expanded to include all of the investment activities and managing the bank's
liquidity. He also will assist in investing mortgages in the secondary market
and managing future mortgage-backed properties. Mr Evans is the treasurer of
NSB Investments and the NSB Foundation.
Kevin J. Carroll has been promoted to executive vice president, operations.
His responsibilities include the bank's branch system, management information
services, compliance officer, human resources, training, and security. He also
is chairman of the bank's Y2K Committee.
Thomas D. Wells has been promoted to vice president, responsible for
management of the bank's loan review function, collection efforts, recovery of
other real estate, and the calculation of the allowance for loan losses.
Madeleine Farkas, assistant vice president, has been appointed to head the
bank's Management Information Services Department. This department is
responsible for providing support to all management information service
functions, including FiServ, the local area and wide area networks, FSA, GL
System, and others.
