Christie's Appoints Greg Shaw

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. -- Christie's launched a Books and Manuscripts Department

at its West Coast headquarters and has appointed Greg Shaw as department head.

As director, Shaw will be responsible for the cultivation of new business in

the Western states, as well as sales of books and manuscripts in the Beverly

Hills saleroom.

Shaw most recently worked as vice president of national operations of the

California Book Auction Galleries, the California division of Butterfield and

Butterfield, where he was responsible for increasing hammer by 400 percent in

a four-year period. Prior to his vice presidency, he was director of the

manuscripts department, which he created in 1995.

In addition, Shaw was a partner in Baynes Communications, Inc, of Ottawa. He

specialized in speech writing and image management for senior corporate and

political figures. Mr Shaw is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario.
