TEFAF Hands Over TEFAF Basel To Messe Basel

BASEL, SWITZERLAND -- TEFAF, the European Fine Art Foundation, and the Messe

Basel have agreed that in future the international art and antiques fair TEFAF

Basel will be organized by the Messe Basel, Switzerland.

The TEFAF Basel fair has been conducted since 1995 and has established itself

as one of the important art and antiques fairs worldwide. In particular, it

has created a platform for classical antiquities, Oriental art and

ethnographic and Pre-Columbian art.

TEFAF will concentrate henceforth on organizing the yearly fair in Maastricht.

TEFAF has worked closely with the Messe Basel in organizing the TEFAF Basel.

TEFAF continues to support and promote this fair in Basel and will continue

under its new management.

The fair will be further developed and organized in cooperation with the

international art trade. A new management will be formed, consisting of

previous TEFAF Basel Board members and other personalities from the

international art trade. This management will, together with the Messe Basel,

decide and publish the concept and timing of the next art and antiques fair in

Basel.
