Cummaquid Fine Arts To Feature Jinda Mulvey In One Person Show, Sept. 18-30
CUMMAQUID, MASS. -- Jinda Mulvey of Cotiut, Mass., and San Jose, Calif., will
experience her first one-person show at Cummaquid Fine Arts, 4275 Route 6A, to
September 30. Early fall gallery hours are Wednesday-Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm;
Sunday, 12 to 4 pm.
Mulvey was born in Macau, China, in 1962 and raised in Pound Ridge, N.Y.
Family summers were spent on Cape Cod. Both the wilderness of Westchester
County, N.Y., and the coastline of the Cape became strong influences in her
painting.
The artist attained her bachelor of fine arts degree at Boston College and
continued her studies with Robert Douglas Hunter, Robert Cormier, Joshua
Graham, and Steven Allrich. Active in the arts community, she is an artist
member of the Copley Society of Boston, an officer of the Cambridge Art
Association, and has participated in auctions at the Cape Museum of Fine Arts
and the Cahoon Museum of Art.
Mulvey's main body of work is a series of seascapes and landscapes of the
California and Northeastern seaboards in oil on canvas. Her painting style
reflects a strong grounding in the traditional techniques of the masters
blended with a contemporary expression.
