Frawley Resigns From Police Panel
After 23 years on the Police Commission, Democratic member Gerald J. Frawley
has resigned from the agency.
Mr Frawley submitted a letter to the town clerk July 27 which made his
resignation effective August 1.
The Democratic Town Committee's candidate selection committee will now make a
recommendation on filling the Democratic vacancy to the full town committee,
said Democratic Town Chairman Earl J. Smith, Jr.
The full town committee's choice will be forwarded to the selectmen who will
vote on the town committee's recommendation. When a new Police Commission
member is endorsed by the selectmen, the selectmen inform the Police
Commission of its new member.
The other members on the Police Commission are Democratic Chairman Robert W.
Connor, Jr, and Republicans Carol Mattegat, William F. Meyer, and James P.
Reilly. There are no alternate members.
