Cocaine Bust On Church Hill

Police report the largest cocaine possession arrest made during the past

several years by an officer while on patrol duty.

Patrol officer Scot Ruszczyk was on patrol on Church Hill Road about 12:30 am

June 3 when he saw a vehicle being driven erratically by Roman H. Flores, 43,

of 23 Kingsley Avenue, Middlebury.

Ruszczyk stopped the vehicle and gave Flores sobriety tests which he failed,

police said.

A search turned up about 100 grams of cocaine which is worth between $12,000

and $15,000 in street value, plus about $7,000 in cash, police said.

Police charged Flores with driving while intoxicated, failure to drive to the

right, possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute,

possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police held Flores on a $25,000 bond for an appearance that day in Danbury

Superior Court.
