Multiple Charges

Police report that while on patrol about 6 pm on July 28, they spotted motorist Louis Deluca, 32, of 9 Frontage Road traveling 50 miles per hour in 25-mph zone near the intersection of Tunnel Road and Barnanbas Road, so they stopped him to investigate.

Police said they charged Deluca with possession of narcotics (heroin), traveling unreasonably fast, driving with a suspended license, driving with a suspended vehicle registration, and failure to have automotive insurance.

After arrest processing, police released Deluca on $250 bail for an August 14 arraignment on the charges in Danbury Superior Court.

Warrant

Police report that at about 5 pm on July 31, they executed an arrest warrant against Nathaniel Greenfield, 33, of Bethel, charging him with violation of probation in connection with a past incident.

After processing, police released Greenfield on $5,000 bail for an August 15 court appearance.

Arrest Warrants

Police report they responded to a complaint concerning a suspicious vehicle parked near The Foundry, a restaurant at 1 Glen Road in Sandy Hook Center, at about 5:30 am on August 3.

Police said that after investigating, they learned that Edison Ruales, 31, of Danbury had two warrants pending against him. Police said they charged Ruales with first-degree failure to appear in court and with second-degree failure to appear in court in connection with Danbury matters.

Ruales was released on $1,500 bail for an August 19 court appearance, according to police.

Botsford Accident

At about 9:24 pm on August 3, motorist Kristina Desruisseaux, 19, of Monroe was driving a 2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK 320 coupe westward on Botsford Hill Road, as motorist Ryan Pineau, 24, of 47 Waterview Drive was driving a 2010 Volkswagen GTI coupe southward on South Main Street, police said.

The Mercedes then drove through a red traffic signal and collided with the Volkswagen, police said.

Pineau was transported to Danbury Hospital on a report of pain, police said.

Police said they issued Desruisseaux an infraction for failure to obey a traffic control signal.

Meadowbrook Road

At about 12:12 pm on July 28, motorist James Malloy, 26, of New Fairfield, who was driving a 2006 Ford 500 sedan eastward on Meadowbrook Road, stopped for traffic conditions and was then struck from behind by eastbound motorist Charlotte Lazor, 45, of Monroe, police said.

There were no injuries. Lazor received a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, police said.

Highway Collision

During rainy conditions and amid heavy traffic, motorist Shane Null, 33, of Seminole, Fla., who was driving a 2008 Nissan Altima westward on Interstate 84, about one mile west of Exit 11, slowed for traffic about 1:36 pm on August 1, and was then struck from behind by motorist Tomor Dishnica, 18, of Cheshire, who was driving a 1997 Toyota Avalon, state police said.

There were no injuries. Dishnica received a written warning for following too closely.

Truck Vs Truck

 At about 5:19 pm on July 31, trucker Junior Destilus, 26, of Dorchester, Mass., who was driving a 2012 Freightliner tractor-trailer truck in the right lane of three lanes on eastbound Interstate 84, attempted to merge into the center lane, but struck motorist David Williams, 53, of Middlebury, who was driving a 1994 Mazda B-3000 pickup truck, state police said.

There were no injuries. Destilus received an infraction for making an unsafe lane change, state police said.

Pontiac Vs Rails

About 7 am on August 3, motorist Layla Longo, 23, of Middlebury was driving a 2002 Pontiac sedan on the Exit 10 on-ramp for eastbound Interstate 84, when the vehicle skidded on wet pavement and struck some guardrailing, police said.

Longo was not injured. Police said they verbally warned Longo for traveling too fast for conditions.

Berkshire Crash

Motorist Paul Fleck, 44, of Hamden was driving a 2011 Hyundai Accent sedan westward on Berkshire Road, near Zoar Road, about 4:50 am on August 3, when he lost control of the auto on a curve, went off the left road shoulder and then struck a stone wall, police said.

Fleck was not injured. Police said they issued Fleck an infraction for making a restricted turn.

Underage Alcohol

Police said that as part of their Stop Underage Drinking (SUDS) enforcement project, they filed alcohol-related violations against three local 19-year-old men on the night of Saturday, August 2.

Police said they conducted surveillance near Rooster Wines & Liquors at 113 South Main Street (Route 25) and at about 8:15 pm saw several people who appeared to be underage and who appeared to be carrying alcohol and placing it within a black 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV.

Police said they then stopped that vehicle about 1,000 feet away, near 103 South Main Street, to investigate.

Police said they issued SUV driver Alexander Roche of 23 Valley View Road an infraction for illegal possession of alcohol by a minor and for failure to display a front marker plate.

Police report they gave passenger Noah Sock of 8 North Ridge Drive an infraction for illegal possession of alcohol by a minor.

Police said they issued passenger Conor Quinn of 3 Ridge Road a misdemeanor summons for illegal possession of alcohol by a minor and for misrepresentation of age to buy alcohol by using a driver’s license. Quinn is scheduled to appear in court on August 14, police said

DUI Case

Police report they responded to a commercial parking lot at 5 Queen Street at about 6 pm on August 6 after learning that a motor vehicle accident had occurred there.

Police said that motorist Brian Rekos, 34, of 12 The Boulevard had been pulling into a parking space but made too wide of a turn and then struck a parked vehicle. The accident caused minor damage. There were no injuries.

Police said that after investigating, they charged Rekos with driving under the influence and with failure to have automotive insurance. Police said they released Rekos on $1,000 bail for an August 20 court appearance.
