Spaces Available For Newtown Congregational Church Flea Market

Newtown Congregational Church is planning a flea market to raise funds for its building expansion project, which is currently underway. The Newtown Congregational Church Fund-Raising Committee is seeking vendors to rent spaces at the flea market. Members are hoping to have many different types of vendors including plenty of tag sale items, antiques, crafters, local businesses, organizations, and refreshment/baked goods tables. Games and entertainment for children are also being planned. The sale is set for Saturday, August 30.

The flea market will be on the soccer fields at Fairfield Hills, off Wassermann Way in Newtown. The location will be easily seen by those passing by in car, on foot or bicycle, etc, and signs will be posted around town and near the exit ramps of I-84. Spaces are being sold for $35 each.

The event is also being planned to coincide with the opening day of C.H. Booth Library’s Annual Book Sale, a day known to bring hundreds of people into town.

Admission to the flea market will be free, and it will be set up within walking distance of the book sale’s location. The sale will run from 9 am to 4 pm, with set-up beginning at 7 am.

For additional information or to reserve a space call Barbara Field at 426-4174 or Newtown Congregational Church’s office, 426-9024.
