Newtown Junior Women’s Club Plans

A Golf Tournament For Time For Life

The Newtown Junior Women’s Club will host a golf tournament at Whitney Farms Golf Course in Monroe on Monday, August 18. This event is open to both men and women.

All proceeds will benefit the NJWC community projects, with special focus on Time for Life, an organization that helps families of children with cancer. As members of the statewide Connecticut Junior Women Inc, NJWC has joined forces in combining the talents of its members and fundraising efforts to support Time for Life. This nonprofit organization lends support during the treatment phase and long-term survival of families of children with cancer.

The tournament will be a four-person scramble to begin at 9 am. The cost is $135 per golfer, which includes 18 holes of golf, cart, continental breakfast, buffet lunch, and tournament gifts and prizes. Hole-in-one prizes include a brand new 2003 Harley Davidson, a set of Ping golf clubs, a titanium golf driver, and a $250 pro shop gift certificate. Player registration and continental breakfast begin at 7:30 am.

NJWC needs players and sponsors in order to make this golf tournament, planned as the first of an annual event, successful. They hope to raise awareness of the Time for Life organization through this event.

Those who have obtained registration forms should return them as soon as possible. NJWC still is looking for a few more four-member teams. Anyone who is interested in playing or sponsoring this fun, worthwhile day, may contact Kathryn Wolf at 270-0307, Kim DiDomizio at 426-4917, or Christine Grabowski at 426-4146. Anyone looking for more information about the Newtown Junior Women’s Club or Time for Life may call the club president, Susan Rahmlow at 426-0357.
