Golden Angels Jazz Band To Conclude
Libraryâs Annual Free Concert Series
Time honored Dixieland and Roaring Twenties favorites, plus Swing Era classics, make up the repertoire of The Golden Angels Jazz Band. This well loved music is played by retired men, all of whom have spent a lifetime with these songs pouring from their instruments. To enhance and broaden the appeal of their program, the band has added a lovely vocalist this year.
The band will be playing the final concert of the 2003 C.H. Booth Library Summer Concert Series on Friday, August 15, at 7 pm. The show is scheduled as an outdoor event but will move into the libraryâs lower meeting room in the event of bad weather.
All members have played with many well-known groups in the New York and Fairfield County area all their lives. Jazz and swing are in their blood, adding excitement to their performances, as they bring the music to life with new and interesting arrangements.
The Golden Angels music library allows members to tailor a presentation to the needs of the occasion: a dance, a party, or a concert, where they put on an entertaining program with showmanship, vocals, some musical history details, humor, and audience participation.
Picnics are welcome for the libraryâs concerts; bring low lawn chairs or blankets for seating. The program will be suitable for all ages.
