Jeep Vs Golf Cart

Police report an accident between a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a motorized golf cart on the driveway at Treadwell Park on Philo Curtis Road about 10 am August 3.

Police said Linda Bradley, 50, of Roxbury was driving a golf cart while involved in park maintenance work, when motorist Jill V. Cherry, 44, of 4 Old Hawleyville Road, who was driving the Jeep, failed to see the golf cart and collided with it.

Bradley received some scratches in the accident, police said. There was no enforcement action.

Three Charged

Police report they arrested three youths on warrants August 7 lodging charges against each of second-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny.

The three youths turned themselves in at the police station to be processed in the case, police said.

Charged were Nicholas Feola, 18, of 40 Algonquin Trail, Sandy Hook; Ross Proctor, 16, of 74 Butterfield Road; and Paul Oppadisano, 17, of Trumbull.

Police said the charges stem from a July 9 incident on Algonquin Trail in which jewelry and a wallet were stolen from a motor vehicle.

Police released Feola on a $20,000 bond for an August 21 appearance in Danbury Superior Court. Police released Proctor and Oppadisano each on promises to appear August 23 in court.

Drug/Motor Vehicle

Police said they arrested a homeless man on the morning of August 7 on Swamp Road on drug and motor vehicle charges.

Police said they arrested Patrick Ryan, 42, of no certain address, on charges including possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, traveling too fast, misuse of marker plates, operating a motor vehicle while under suspension, and operating a motor vehicle without automotive insurance.

Police said they had stopped Ryan for a motor vehicle violation, after which a search turned up the drugs.

Police held Ryan on a $1,000 bond for an appearance August 8 in Danbury Superior Court.
