Joan P. Parker, 82, of Pawleys Island, S.C., died peacefully August 6, at The Lakes at Litchfield. She was born on March 21, 1935, and raised in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan.

Her husband of 58 years, James; sons, James, and his wife Marie, of Sandy Hook and John of Woodstock, Ga.; three grandchildren, James, Michael, and Christine Parker; and her sister, Deborah Coleman of New York City, survive her.

Her parents, Anne and John Kelly, and a sister, Mary Anne, predeceased her.

Mrs Parker was a graduate of Cathedral High School, Class of 1952. Though she was primarily a homemaker, her business career centered on the insurance industry with more than 18 years working at Metlife, Liberty Mutual, and Allstate.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm, on Wednesday, August 9, at the Williams Funeral Home, 5628 Broadway, Bronx, N.Y.

Mrs Parker will be buried at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, N.Y., following a ceremonial mass at the cemetery chapel on August 10, at 10 am.
