United Way And Danbury Fair Teaming Up To Host ‘Just Jeans’ Event

DANBURY — Everyone has that pair of jeans that used to be their favorites. But then another pair came along and bam! — there go the “old” favorites to the back of the closet along with other former favorites, parachute pants, and leg warmers.

Danbury Fair mall and United Way have teamed up to find a happy home for those lonely and forever folded jeans. Through August 13, stop by Center Court at Danbury Fair mall to drop off used or retired jeans of all genders and sizes. New and lightly used jeans will be made available to United Way of Western Connecticut and Salvation Army to be distributed to families in need.

Then on August 13 the mall will host “Just Jeans,” part of Danbury Fair mall’s series of “Get Together & Give” community events, which bring together women to give back to their communities while enjoying time with their friends. This all-women’s party will be a great mix of social philanthropy and socializing.

Guests will help sort and package the donated jeans for delivery while talking to experts in denim at The Denim Bar, where they will help find the perfect fit for women of all shapes and sizes.

There will also be makeovers, refreshments and entertainment.

Just Jeans will begin at 6 pm in Center Court of the mall, 7 Backus Avenue. Reservations are requested; contact Melissa Eigen at Melissa.Eigen@macerich.com or 830-5380.
