All-Stars Shine In Summer League Game

During the past month-and-a-half, 9-year-old baseball players participated in the Route 84 Summer Baseball League. Teams traveled to play games from mostly in the Route 84 corridor, including Newtown, Southbury, Middlebury, New Milford, New Fairfield, Brookfield, Shepaug, Redding and Pound Ridge, NY as well as Monroe and Fairfield.

On July 18, the first annual 9-year-old All-Star game was held at Ewald field in Southbury. The game was won by the North 12-4.

Newtown players on the North team were Owen McInerney, Ryan Kost, Ethan Aug, Dylan Champagne and Patrick Godino.

Newtown participants on the South team were Peter Debona, Jacob Steinebrey, Adam Beckett and Sean Wallace.
