Musicon To Perform

Free Concert August 18

Musicon’s Christian musical drama by 60 high school students from throughout Connecticut will be in Newtown for its second annual free concert Saturday, August 18, at 7:30 pm at the Newtown Congregational Church.

The students are under the direction of the Rev Jonathan Colegrove and have been on tour. The story enacted will be a story of a modern-day character and his/her relationship to God. The program will appeal to all ages and is open to the entire community.

Choir members and staff will be given dinner and host housing through arrangements by the Congregationalists.

The Rev Colegrove was ordained in 1984 and has served churches in Ridgefield and Berlin, Conn. In 1991, Rev Colegrove and his wife Jama became full-time missionaries to the youth of Connecticut with Musicon Musicals, Inc. They write the musicals with various writing teams. During the 2000-2001 season, Musicon groups were seen in 65 churches throughout the Northeast.
