Helping Seniors Protect Privacy
BETHEL â On August 29, the Connecticut VNA will host a discussion, âSenior Savvy â Protecting Your Privacy,â featuring Lynne Grant of the University of Connecticutâs Extension in Bethel. The discussion will be held at 1 pm at the Brookfield Senior Center, 100 Pocono Road, in conjunction with blood pressure screening and refreshments provided by the Connecticut VNA.
âTodayâs technology has moved so rapidly, itâs difficult for most of us to keep up with it,â Ms Grant said. âOur seniors are doing a pretty good job of learning whatâs going on, but they also need to have technology decoded so they have information they can use. Thatâs the gap we are working to fill; and we enjoy the opportunity to work with other social organizations in our area to bring this knowledge to the widest possible audience.â
âThe Connecticut VNA doesnât view itself as simply an agency to facilitate home health care,â commented Janice Danyew, director of patient operations at the Brookfield office of the Connecticut VNA. âIf we can use our programs to bring good ideas to the community, weâre happy to do that, too.â
With 12 offices throughout the state., Connecticut VNA provides a full range of home health care to patients of all ages and financial circumstances. As an affiliate of Masonicare, it is part of one of the largest health care organizations in the state.
