Neighborhoods Studio Open House
BRIDGEPORT â The Bridgeport Neighborhood Studios program will host an open house on Thursday, August 10, at the Arnold Bernhard Center on the campus of the University of Bridgeport.
Bridgeport Neighborhood Studios is sponsored by the Music and Arts Center for Humanity. It is a school-to-career summer apprenticeship program for youths 14-18 years of age. The program is designed to give musically and artistically talented young adults a taste of a professional career in the arts.
The open house will present work created by Neighborhood Studios during the six-week program. The event will feature a contemporary jazz ensemble, art demonstrations, an art gallery, and a theatrical adaptation of the folk tale How the Snake Got His Rattles. All art presented will be for sale and proceeds will go to the Bridgeport Neighborhood Studios program.
Live entertainment will begin at 6 pm and How the Snake Got His Rattles will take place at 6:30. The open house is free and open to the public. Snacks and refreshments will be served. For additional information and/or directions, call the Music and Arts Center for Humanity at 203/366-3300.
