Housatonic Habitat To Dedicate Second Newtown Home

On Sunday, August 13, at 2 pm, Housatonic Habitat for Humanity will dedicate its most recently completed home, the second of two built in Newtown.

The public is invited to join community leaders, Habitat volunteers, and homeowner Susan Mallabar and family for a brief Dedication service at 69 Philo Curtis Road in Sandy Hook, just north of Treadwell Town Park.

Among the speakers will be Newtown First Selectman Herb Rosenthal; Housatonic Habitat President Christie Davey; Susan Mallabar; the Rev Kathleen Adams-Shephard of Newtown’s Trinity Episcopal Church; the Rev Jack Tanner of Newtown Christian Church; and pastors Barry and Sheila Fredericks of Grace Christian Fellowship Church, which is also providing refreshments.

Housatonic Habitat plans to complete at least one more home this year – 20 Rowan Street, Danbury, on which interior sheet rocking has just begun.

For more information or directions to the Dedication – or to volunteer with a local Habitat affiliate, on site or off – please call the HHfH office at 203/431-1392 or log on to www.danburyhabitat.org.
