A Workshop For Shutter Bugs

BETHLEHEM — The Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden will present “Shutter Bugs,” a garden and flower photography workshop on Saturday, August 19, from 9 am to 4 pm. The day-long program will be an introduction to garden and flower photography for amateur photographers and gardeners

Instructor Rich Pomerantz, a professional photographer, will teach participants how to create beautiful, well crafted photographs of gardens, companion plantings and individual specimens found in your own garden. The morning session will include a lecture and slide show, followed by lunch by Jack’s of Washington and a photo critique. The afternoon session will be two-hour photo session in the historic Ferriday Garden.

Participants are required to bring a single lens reflex (SLR) camera (a 35 mm camera with changeable lens), film and a tripod. Participants are also encouraged to bring examples of their photographic work for review and discussion.

Rich Pomerantz is a commercial and portrait photographer with a specialty in horticulture photography. His garden images have been published in Garden Design, Horticulture, Green Scene, and the White Flower Farm catalog.

Cost for the workshop is $45 per person, and lunch is an additional fee of $10. For more information, call Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden at 203/266-7596.
