Saint Raphaelâs Home To New ACS Resource Center
NEW HAVEN â The Father Michael J. McGivney Center for Cancer Care at the Hospital of Saint Raphael is scheduled to formally open a new American Cancer Society Resource Center at its main New Haven campus with an open house from noon to 4 pm on August 12.
The new American Cancer Society (ACS) Resource Center will provide patients with free printed material on cancer treatment, education programs, and ACS services.
The center will also be home to a dedicated computer terminal for research and access to Emmi, an online resource for patient education. A volunteer will staff the center to distribute materials and help with computer usage.
The new center mirrors a similar library-style ACS Resource Center that opened in the Father Michael J. McGivney Cancer Center-Hamden Campus just over a year ago.
The Father Michael J. McGivney Center for Cancer Care at Saint Raphaelâs, with campuses in New Haven and Hamden, offers state-of-the-art treatment for cancers including those of the breast, esophagus, head and neck, liver, lung, pancreas, and prostate.
Saint Raphaelâs treats more than 24,000 cancer patients each year and offers cutting-edge technology like CyberKnife, a revolutionary form of radiosurgery.
