Newtown Loves To Read
Newtown Loves To Read
To the Editor:
Well it should be no surprise that Newtowners love to read! The CH Booth Library Adult Summer Reading Program is off to a great start this summer with over 100 adults signed up for the program and together they have already read over 1,700 books.
On Friday {July 30], Ester Nichols and her granddaughter Katie drew the winners for the first drawing. Local businesses contributed great gift certificates and prizes. Weâd like to thank Sal e Pepe Restaurant, Newtown Youth Academy, Sandy Hook Wine & Liquor, Friends of the CH Booth Library, Ricciâs Salon & Spa, and Dunkinâ Donuts. The merchants in town are continually being called upon by many organizations and they always are so supportive of all of the worthwhile causes. We really do appreciate your generosity.
Itâs not too late to sign up for summer reading. There will be another drawing in late August so please go online at www.chboothlibrary.org and register. Then grab a favorite book and read. After youâve finished stop by the library and place your summer reading forms in the box of the prize youâd most like to win. Then at the end of the summer weâll compile a list of what we all been reading including a special list of our favorites.
Hope to see you soon at the library,
Kim Weber
