DOGS AND CATS

Saturday, August 7 – Animals For Life, a non-profit animal rescue organization, will host a public adoption for cats and kittens on Saturday, August 7, from 11 am to 3 pm, at the VFW Hall in Southbury. All animals have been thoroughly examined by a veterinarian, have received vaccinations, and have been (if old enough) spayed or neutered. Call 267-6777 for further information.

SPECIAL EVENTS

 

Saturday and Sunday, August 21 and 22 – The U.S. Department of the Interior will hold a Wild Horse and Burro adoption on Saturday and Sunday, August 21 and 22, at the University of Connecticut in Storrs. Hours will be from 8 am to 5 pm on Saturday and 8 am to 12 noon on Sunday. A preview will be held on Friday, August 20, from 1 to 5 pm. Adoption fee will be determined by competitive bid (with a minimum bid of $125). More than 80 horses (mostly yearlings to five years of age, with a variety of colors) and burros will be available.
