Newtown Artist Honored At KAA President’s Show

KENT — Betty Christensen of Newtown was one of 16 artists honored during last weekend’s opening reception of Kent Art Association’s Annual President’s Show. Mrs Christensen received The Elizabeth Pennell Memorial Award for her watercolor, “Wash Day at Faggiano.”

This year’s show, a highlight of KAA’s 81st season, presents 161 pieces of representational art in oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, graphics and small sculpture by artists from throughout southern New England, New York and New Jersey.

The President’s Show will continue through Monday, September 6 – Labor Day – at KAA’s gallery, 21 South Main Street (Route 7, just south of the village traffic light).
