Ice Cream Shop Hits Its Stride
Ice Cream Shop
Hits Its Stride
To the Editor:
Please let me use this means to say thank you to the community for their continuing support of our ice cream shop and to Kaaren Valenta for a great story.
Our âSuggestions and Requestsâ box was well used. We are now working at near full capacity with about two dozen homemade ice cream flavors, several new Moo-Mixer combinations and milkshake flavors â many as a result of those requests â available on any given day.
Our Grand Opening was lots of fun. The winner of the âName a Flavorâ contest was Arno Sokk of Newtown. âCow Tracksâ is the name he suggested for my concoction of peanut butter based with caramel and chocolate chips. There were two winners of the âName a Calfâ contest: Jason Jager, Sandy Hook, choose âFortuneâ and Stan Slupecki, from Union, who choose âCookies and Cream.â We combined their ideas to name the calf âFortune Cookie.â The winner of the raffle for a gift basket was Margaret Cassidy.
Our next âName the Flavorâ and âName the Calfâ contests will be Saturday, August 14, 3 to 5 pm. Successful contestants win a free T-shirt.
Weâve gotten several inquiries and compliments regarding our farm sign and the labels for our store products. They were produced by A Sign Depot on Route 25; the folks there did a great job and are wonderful to work with.
Our Lost & Found section now includes several items, including a very nice baby stroller left behind on June 23, a prayer study book, and various other items.
Again, thank you for the excellent coverage.
Sincerely,
Shirley Ferris
